Opened in 2014, The Retreat in Marathon (“The Retreat”) was designed, and purpose-built as a labor of love by serial entrepreneur John Ratliff. The Retreat is a boutique destination resort that you, and your party, will have all to yourself in our luxurious private and intimate tropical setting. The Retreat has all the amenities to satisfy the work, play, culinary and entertainment needs of the most discerning and adventurous guests.
The Villa at The Retreat
– Property Overview
The Villa at The Retreat is comprised of the Main House and the Bali Guest House. With 10,000+ square feet of livable space spanning across the two structures, The Retreat is the perfect intimate home setting for large gatherings of executive teams or families and friends that can accommodate 16 people comfortably. The Villa at The Retreat boasts 6 bedrooms, 5.5 baths, 2 pools, a gourmet kitchen, an enclosed outdoor sports bar, a game room with billiards table, a commercial style bar complete with 4 draft taps, a conference room with seating for up to 14 with full multimedia capabilities, a full outdoor spa, an expansive tiki bar with outdoor kitchen and much more.
You may reserve The Retreat for one week at a time. Rates range from $22,000 (off-season) and $35,000 (peak season), and special events (such as our Entrepreneur Boot Camp series) are priced on a per person basis. THE VILLA FLOORPLAN
The centerpiece of the lower level of the Main House is a massive outdoor (covered) sports bar that features 3 high definition televisions, as well as a pool. Once inside the Main House, you will find a full breakfast bar (complete with refrigeration and appliances) that opens up into a game room for fun gatherings for your entire group. Just off the Game Room in the Main House there is a lower-level bedroom with 2 queen-sized beds and an ensuite bathroom.
The Guest House, which is adjacent to the Main House, is an inspired structure that features a fully stocked taproom, large conference room and a half bath. The custom-built fold-away doors in the club room of the Guest House can be opened up to create a 180 degree indoor/outdoor space overlooking the serene outdoor pool and spa.
The Upper Level of the Main House is comprised of a beautiful gourmet chef’s kitchen, a spacious dining room that seats up to 14 people, an airy living room with glass pocket doors that open up to a wraparound terrace, and 3 luxurious bedrooms. The bedrooms include the Master Suite, which features a rain shower and in-room service bar (with refrigeration), a second master suite, with a beautiful spa-style shower, and a guest bedroom with access to a separate full bath immediately next to the room.
The Main House and Guest House are connected by a walkway that overlooks the stunning grounds and natural setting that surrounds The Retreat. Upon entry to the Upper Level of the Guest House, you are greeted by an intricately constructed lofted wooden ceiling. Just off the foyer inside the Upper Level of the Guest House is a stunning master bedroom with three sided pocket doors that open onto a private deck. The Guest House also boasts a second, spacious guest bedroom, and the two bedrooms in the Guest House share a spectacular spa-like bathroom that includes an 8 jet body spray rain shower and separate spa tub.
The Upper Level of the Guest House includes a large loft area just above the landing, with 2 queen beds and a private seating area. It is a great play space for children and has plenty of room for adult guests as well.

Sunset Point at The Retreat sits adjacent to The Villa at The Retreat and can be rented as its own property, or an add-on to accommodate larger party needs for our guests staying at The Retreat.
Sunset Point at The Retreat is a tropical oasis with a private pool, over 150 feet of dock space and amazing sunsets. With 2,640 square feet of livable space, Sunset Point at The Retreat is the perfect intimate home setting for small gatherings of executive teams or families and friends that accommodate 8 people comfortably. Sunset Point at The Retreat boasts 3 bedrooms with views of the water from almost every room, 3 baths and 1 half bath, 1 pool, and a gourmet kitchen.
